[00:11:31.044494]<santagada>is someone there online?
[00:12:15.891506]<Jomu>if it can help :)
[00:15:18.231222]<santagada>Jomu: run this on a python 2.6: http://trac.macports.org/attachment/ticket/20286/threadboom.py
[00:15:39.117321]<santagada>and see if it crashes your python or you get "Your interpreter didn't blow up... sorry"
[00:16:17.054252]<santagada>Jomu: I'm trying to figure out if this affects only python 2.6 on macports or some other version of it
[00:18:30.927621]<Jomu>sorry, not my venue
[00:18:43.211466]<Jomu>I'me only end-end-user of python products :)
[00:19:36.095472]<santagada>Jomu: you just have to download the file and run. in the worst case it will crash the python interpreter, but will do no harm to your python installation or computer
[00:20:07.920481]<santagada>I mean, at least if you are not running windows prior to NT
[00:20:44.050182]<Jomu>I habe 2.5.1 on one host
[00:20:48.480912]<Jomu>have*
[00:20:53.254031]<Jomu>santagada can it help?
[00:20:58.969752]<santagada>windows 98 and earlier didn't have memory protection, so this could bring your machine down
[00:21:14.116740]<santagada>Jomu: no I don't think the problem exists in python 2.5
[00:21:24.380108]<santagada>Jomu: but thanks
[00:21:29.493504]<Jomu>ok
[00:25:40.315117]<santagada>Jomu: thanks good night

[07:25:20.328874]<mpedersen>Anybody here able to point me to a tutorial on using the trac model? Trying to write a plugin that accesses the database.

[15:26:47.239666]<Jomu>can i propedit svn:log from trac's web interface?
[15:27:42.331061]<osimons>Jomu: nope. trac only reads. a propedit (really any svn change) needs to be committed as a revision.
[15:28:03.342707]<Jomu>thanks
[15:28:17.123417]<Jomu>is there other web interface for that?
[15:28:27.325464]<Jomu>ona that can be addedd to trac?
[15:29:03.722502]<Jomu>#781
[15:29:15.113608]<osimons>actually - yes, i remembered that when i wrote
[15:29:48.044332]<osimons>that ticket discusses not changing svn directly, but rather the information stored in trac. no solution available as far as i know.
[15:30:43.629857]<osimons>- and i'm wrong about svn:log, that is of course something that isn't a revision as the svnadmin tool can do it directly (overwriting)
[15:34:45.801949]<Jomu>I see it
[15:34:56.373426]<Jomu>last comment is clear
[15:35:03.762269]<Jomu>make changes to trac.db
[15:35:11.859001]<Jomu>and maybe sync it back, somehow sometimes
[18:36:01.039288]<Evanlec>hey is there a wa i can get pdf attachments viewable as html in the browser?
[21:17:20.837478]<dikim33>can anyone please help me to deal with this issue? I have setup "SetEnv PYTHON_EGG_CACHE /some/path" on my apache configuration but apache does not seem to recognize it.
[21:19:00.827148]<roh>apache tends to suck sometimes
[21:19:46.839644]<dikim33>roh: :-(
[21:20:02.243398]<roh>i did mod the fastcgi scripts sometimes to workaround that but mostly have a egg-cache in my trac workdir now
[21:21:23.352285]<roh>just mkdir .egg-cache in the same directory where you got the 'db log conf attachments plugins' directtories and let www-data or how your apache's group is named write there
[21:21:28.151216]<dikim33>I did a workaround to setup .egg-cache/ directory manually and it works.
[21:21:53.557386]<dikim33>but that does not seem to do the right thing. I mean I miss something.
[21:22:07.584238]<roh>'?
[21:22:58.593238]<dikim33>roh: I feel like missing something because i believe that "SetEnv PYTHON_EGG_CACHE /some/path" is supposed to work.
[21:23:49.600427]<roh>i though so too, but my apache never archieved to pass that info into the trac env correctly for me (atleast on 5+ setups i do maintain)
[21:24:10.772878]<roh>in lighty setups it works *sigh* ..but i can only use that where i do not use svn
[21:25:00.230925]<dikim33>roh: what do you use instead of svn then?
[21:28:19.326420]<dikim33>I have talked to someone in this channel. He gave me a good answer for this when I had the same maybe similar problem (SetEnv PYTHON_EGG_CACHE /some/path issue). AFAIR, it was about extracting the compressed file(s). Maybe, some files were not extracted and they were kept as *.egg files.
[21:28:44.089325]<roh>i have some installs which dont have any scm in use, and some with git and currently no scm integration.
[21:29:12.516768]<roh>the egg cache is for expanding ressources when needed on the fly afaik.
[21:30:06.570722]<dikim33>That sounds reasonable but I am talking about how to avoid the "SetEnv PYTHON_EGG_CACHE /some/path" issue.
[21:31:10.593281]<dikim33>I had the talk about 6 months ago.
[21:48:48.683056]<roh>check http://trac.edgewall.org/browser/trunk/trac/admin/templates/deploy_trac.fcgi
[21:49:28.114326]<roh>means if it doesnt work, the apache has propably done something wrong
[23:26:25.900481]<dikim33>I have the following error.
[23:26:27.226991]<dikim33>ImportError: No module named svn
[23:27:12.199987]<dikim33>Even though subversion-python is installed properly, I have no idea why this error happens on the trac system.
[23:27:54.326236]<dikim33>Importing core from svn is working fine on the python command line.
[23:28:02.451913]<dikim33>Anyone can help me out?
